Mangalore buns

Mangalore buns - This is a recipe unique to the South canara district of Karnataka. It can be called as banana puri as it is made using banana and maida. The taste is unique and usually loved by all. It is usually served with coconut chutney or sagu, though it can be had on its own.
Ingredients (1 cup = 200 mg)
Banana (overriped) - 3 to 4
Maida (all purpose flour) - 2 cups
Curds (yogurt) - 3 tbsp
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Salt for taste
Oil for frying
Method
Peel the bananas and smash it  a fine paste in a wide mouthed bowl. Add the maida to it. Now add the cumin seeds, sugar, baking soda and salt for taste. Mix well. Add the yogurt also and make it into a dough. You can add a spoon of oil, to make it soft. The dough should be of chapati dough consistency. Rest it for about 1 to 2 hours.
After about 1 to 2 hours, make small balls from this dough. Roll this balls into a small poori with chapati pin. It should not be too thin or thick.
Take a frying pan with oil. Heat it. When the oil is hot, take this rolled puri and fry it in medium high flame. Fry both sides and fry one by one. Fry till they turn golden brown.
Your buns is ready. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sagu or you can eat it just like that.
