Garlic Pepper saaru

Garlic Pepper rasam - This is an excellent raaam recipe for the cold season. It is good especially when you have flu or throat infection. Also it requires minimum ingredients n efforts.
Ingredients
Garlic cloves - 10 to 15 crushed slightly
Tamarind - about a small lemon sized soaked in water
Tomato - 1 medium finely chopped
Peppercorn - 2 tsp
Green chilli - 1 slit into 4
Cumin seeds - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Red chilli - 1 for seasoning
Ghee - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Salt for taste
Method - Dry roast the cumin seeds and pepper corn and powder them into a fine Powder using dry blender or mortar and pestle. Keep it .
Un a vessel take 1 tsp of ghee and add mustard seeds to it. When they splutter add the crushed garlic and saute them for a minute. Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilli and saute it for about 2 to 3 min. Add the tamarind water and allow ut to boil. To this mix add a pinch of turmeric powder and salt for taste. Add about 200 ml or more of water. Boil it the raw smell of tamarind goes. When the mix comes to a boil, add the cumin seeds - pepper mix. Let it boil for 5 min. Then remove it from flame. Add finely chopped coriander seeds.
Seasoning (optional) - in the seasoning kadai, take ghee. Add some mustard. When it splutters add asofoetida, curry leaves and red chilli. Saute it and then add the seasoning to the rasam.
Serve hot with rice n pappad
