Bharwan bhindi

Bharwan bhindi (stuffed okra) - This is a tasty accomplishment with okra. Here okra is stuffed with besan and other masalas and fried. This is typically served as side dish with rice or roti.
As I love okra, I was eager to try this and it tasted really well.
Ingredients
Okra - 15 to 20
Onion - 1 medium sized finely chopped
Tomato - 1 medium sized finely chopped (optional)
Jeera - 1 tsp
Green chillies - 2 slit vertically
Oil - 4 to 5 tsp
For the stuffing
Besan (gram flour) - 1/4 cup
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder (kashmiri) - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Aamchoor powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Jeera powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Hing a pinch
Salt for taste.
Method
Wash the bhindi (okra) and wipe them dry with a clean cloth. Slit the okra and cut into half or 3 pieces depending on length.
In a kadai dry roast the besan powder, till the raw smell of it goes.
Take a wide mouthed mixing bowl and take the roasted besan in it. Add all the other items mentioned in for the stuffing. Add a spoon of hot oil and mix well..
Now fill these in the slit bhoria. Fill them fully. Keep it aside.
Take a kadai with oil and heat it. Add the jeera seeds and allow them to splutter. Add the finely chopped onion and saute them till golden brown. Add the tomatoes and saute them till they become mushy.
Now add the green chillies and the stuffed okras. Sprinkle little water and keep it in low heat for a while with occasional stirring. When it is half done, add the remaining masala and stir well. Allow it to cook in low heat for about 5 minutes. Saute in between occasionally.
Remove from heat once the Bhindi is cooked and serve hot.
