Hesarubele unde/Moong dal laddu

Hesarubele unde/ Moong dal laddu - This is a very easy laddu and rich in protein as well. We usually make besan laddu and rawa laddu for festivals, I wanted to make something different, so I tried this.
Ingredients
Hesarubele/ green gram dal/ moong dal - 1 and half cup
Sugar - 3/4th cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Cut dry fruits (cashew,badam,pista) - 3 to 4 tbsp
Method
Take a thick bottomed kadai. Keep it in flame and dry roast the moong dal/hesarubele. The flame has to be sim and you have to stir often. The moong dal should not be burnt. It should turn to golden colour. The smell also changes and it becomes aromatic. Remove it from heat, and spread it on a plate. Let it cool.
In that time, you can dry roast the cut cashew nut and pista. Add a spoon of ghee and roast the resin also.
Grind the moong dal into fine powder using a mixer grinder.
In the same grinder, take the sugar and powder it as well.
Take the thick bottomed kadai and heat it. Add the moong dal powder and saute it. When it becomes aromatic (less than 2 to 3 min), add the powdered sugar. Saute this for about 3 to 4 minutes. Add ghee and the dry fry. Mix it well and remove from heat.
Allow this mix to cool a little. Mix with your hands and make small laddus. You can add more ghee if it is not getting the shape. Let it cool completely and then you can even store it in airtight container.
