Fried Mushrooms

Fried Mushroom - This is an starter. I wanted to have a mix of flavors for my mushroom starter, so i tried doing it differently, and it was yummy. I have not added any sauces. Instead of adding pepper, you can add red chilli powder, but I feel for mushrooms peppee suits better than red chilli with mushroom.
Ingredients
Button mushrooms - 10 to 15 (halved)
Green chilli - 2 slit into halved
Capsicum - 1/2 cut into small cubes (optional)
Onion - 1 finely chopped
Oil for frying
For the batter
All purpose flour - 3/4 th cup
Corn flour - 3 tbsp
Pepper - 2 tbsp freshly ground
Pinch of baking soda.
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
Salt for taste
Method
First we have to make the batter for coating the mushrooms. In a wide mouthed bowl take all purpose flour and corn flour. Add pepper powder, chilli powder and salt for taste. Add a pinch of baking soda. Add water little by little to make a thick batter.
Take oil in a frying nadia and keep it to heat. Do not add the mushroom to the batter till the oil is ready as mushroom leaves water. The mushrooms have to be added in batches as well.
Coat the mushroom in the batter and fry it in oil. Fry till golden. Keep it aside in paper towel to drain the oil.
Once all the mushrooms are fried, take another kada with 2 tbsp of oil. Add the chopped garlic. Saute them. Add the finely chopped onions. Saute till translucent. Add the slit green chilli and the curved capsicum. Add the fried mushrooms. Add salt for taste and remove from heat.
Serve hot with chilli or tomato sauce.
