Gobi 65

Gobi 65 - This is a Indian style snack without addition of sauces. This can be served as snack or as starter.
Ingredients (1 cup - 250 mg)
Cauliflower (Gobi) - 1 medium
Oil for frying
For batter
Besan powder - 1/2 cup
Rice flour - 4 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
Red chilli powder - 3 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp or
Aamchoor powder - 1 tsp
For making Gobi 65
Onion - 1 medium
Capsicum - 1 medium
Garlic - 5 to 6 finely chopped
Ginger - 1 inch grated
Green chillies - 3 to 4 slit vertically
Capsicum - 1 medium (Optional)
Salt - a pinch
Method
Separate the florets of Gobi. In a vessel heat water with turmeric powder. Add the Gobi florets and blanch them. This is to remove the worms from the Gobi.
To make the batter take a vessel with besan powder. Add rice flour and corn flour. Add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt for taste. Add lemon juice or aamchoor powder. Add water little by little. The batter should not be very watery or very hard. Put the Gobi florets to the batter and mix well. Allow it to marinate for 15 minutes.
Take oil in a kadai. Heat it till the oil is medium hot. Put the batter coated Gobi florets one by one to the oil. Deep fry them till golden brown. Remove from oil and drain the excess oil. Batch fry all the Gobi florets. Keep them aside.
Making Gobi 65
In another kadai, take 2 tbsp of oil. Add the finely chopped garlic. Saute them for a while. Add the vertically chopped onions and roast them till they become translucent. Add curry leaves and roast it.
 Add vertically slit capsicum if you want. Saute it till it becomes bright. Add vertically slit green chilli and a pinch of salt. Add the fried Gobi.
Serve hot as starter or with chapati/ naan
