Rawa laddu

Rava laddu
For Krishna astami and ganesh chaturthi usually lots of unde's and chakkuli are made. One of the very simple sweet to prepare is rava laddu
Rava - 1 cup
Sugar -3/4 cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Elaichi/ cardamom - 4 nos
Milk -1/4 cup or as necessary
Nuts (cashew, badam, pista, walnut) a few
Rasins
Method
First Dry roast the nuts separately using a thick bottomed kadai. Dry roasting brings out their flavor by bringing out the oil. Roast the rasins in ghee. Keep it in a plate. Now powder the sugar and elaichi together in a mixie.
Take a thick bottomed kadai and roast the rawa. It should give an aroma. Add the ghee and roast it for about 3 min. Add the powdered sugar and the nuts and rasins. You can add shredded kopra if you like the taste. Add milk. Mix everything. Take small portion of the mix and roll it into small sized balls. You can add ghee or milk to make the appropriate consistency.
1. The laddu can be made without adding milk and using only ghee as binding agent. The shelf life is increased.
