Rajma kebab

Rajma kebab - A tasty and healthy kebab made from red kidney beans i.e., rajma which is flavored with the goodness of spices. You can shallow or deep fry it or even bake it.

Ingredients
Rajma - 1 cup soaked overnight
Potatoes - 2 to 3 medium sized
Corn flour - 4 tbsp
Onion - 1 medium sized finely chopped
Green chilli - 2 finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Jeera powder - 2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 2 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
 Salt for taste
Oil for frying
Method
Soak the rajma overnight. Drain the water from rajma and rinse it. Pressure cook it after adding 1/2 tsp salt for 6 to 8 whistles. The rajma has to be really soft. If it's not soft, add some more water and cook again.
Boil the potatoes as well in another cooker. Peel the skin and mash it.
In a large mixing bowl, take the rajma and mash them. Add the mashed potatoes. Add the finely chopped onions and green chilli. Also add ginger garlic paste. Add the spice powders i.e., turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and red chilli powder. Add salt for taste and lemon juice. Add 2 tsp of corn flour and mix well. Check the taste and add any spices if necessary.
Take a small portion from the mix. Shape it into cylindical shapes .
Roll these in the corn flour. The outside of the kebab should be coated
Now you can either take a kadai and deep fry the kebabs or shallow fry it in a pan. I did both and felt shallow frying was better. You can even bake it, though I have not tried.
Serve hot with mint chutney and tomato sauce
