Garlic rice

Garlic rice - This is a simple recipe which I make on a lazy day. It doesn't require many ingredients as well. You can eat garlic rice with pappads or fried item like murukkus.
Ingredients
Garlic - 15 to 20 cloves
Oil for cooking - 2 tbsp
Rice - 2 cups (cooked)
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Salt for taste
For tempering
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Chana dal - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Method
Take oil in a large kadai. Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter. Add chana dal and urad dal. Add the garlic cloves. Roast them till the garlic turns golden brown. Add salt and pepper powder. Remove from heat. Keep it aside
How to cook rice for garlic rice
Take the required amount of rice. Wash it. Add water less than you do usually. If you are using 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice, add 1 and 3/4 cup of water. Add a pinch of salt and 2 drops of oil and cook it in pressure cooker or electric cooker.
Mix the rice once cool with the tempered garlic in kadai.
