Boiled green gram salad

Boiled green gram salad - This is a very healthy snack. You can pack it for your child's snack box. It is very easy to prepare as well.
Ingredients
Green gram - sprouted and boiled (see notes) - 1 cup
Onion - 1 medium finely chopped
Tomato - 1 medium finely chopped
Carrot - 1 medium grated
Green chilli - 1 finely chopped
Salt - for taste
Lemon juice
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp (optional)
Oregano or other herb mix - to sprinkle (Optional)
Method
Soak the green gram overnight. Next day morning drain the water and tie the green gram in a muslin cloth. Let it be for 6 to 8 hrs. You can see that the green grams have sprouted. Boil this with water in electric rice cooker or pressure cooker Or in a normal vessel with water. It should not boil too much.
Now in a wide mouthed bowl, take the boiled green gram. Add chopped onions, green chillies and tomatoes. Add the grated carrot. You can also add other raw vegetables of your choice like grated beetroot or cubes of boiled potatoes. Add salt and pepper powder. Sprinkle with some oregano or other herb mix. Add a tsp of lemon juice. Mix well.
You can eat this with chapati as well.
