Ridgegourd peel chutney (Heerekai sippe chutney)

Heerekai sippe chutney is a fiber packed chutney made using the peel off ridgegourd. It goes very well with hot rice or also with akki roti, idli dosa etc.
Ingredients
Heerekai sippe - 1 1/2 cup (peel of 2 heerekai)
Coconut - 4 tbsp grated
Green chilli - 2
Salt for taste
Asofoetida - a pinch
For masala
Chana dal - 2 tbsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tbsp
Tamarind - a small lemon sized
Red chilli - 3
Curry leaves - 1 tbsp
Coconut oil - 1 tbsp
Method
First cook the peel off ridgegourd until they are soft using a little water. Keep it aside.
In a kadai, take coconut oil and roast chana dal and urad dal till they are golden brown. Add red chilli and roast them as well. Add tamarind and coconut and just saute it. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
In a blender, take cooked ridgegourd, green chilli, the roasted items, add salt for taste and a pinch of asofoetida. Blend it using little water. Your chutney is ready.
You can temper it with mustard seeds.
Seeve it with rice or dosa
