Neer dosa

Neer dosa (baji Ari dosa)
This is a popular and simple recipe in udupi mangalore region. It is usually served with mango or coconut chutney, veg kurma or mango rasayana. This is called neer dosa as the batter is very watery or baji Ari dosa as there is no need of adding urad dal to the batter. You may also like other dosa recipe without urad dal like Godhi dosa
Ingredients
Raw rice - 1 cup
Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
Thin Avalakki (poha) - 1/4 cup
Salt - for taste
Method
Soak the rice for about 4 to 5 hours. Wash the rice and grind it along with grated coconut, avail and salt in a mixie. No need to add too much water. The batter need not be very smooth. After grinding, add water to the batter and make it thin.
Take a dosa tawa and heat it. On the hot tawa, pour the batter. You should see holes being formed (only then it is the correct consistency). You should not spread the batter on tawa like you do for the normal dosa. Add some oil to the dosa and close it with a lid. Cook it in medium flame. Serve it hot.
P.s. : You can serve it with coconut Jaggery mix as well.
