Curd rice

Oggarane mosaranna( curd rice/thair saadam)
Any south indian meal is inconplinc without curd rice. The tempering or oggarane makes the curd rice tastier by the flavors.
Cooked rice - 1 bowl
Green chilli - 2
Ginger - 1/4 inch long
Curds - 1/2 cup
Pomegranate seeds - a little
Salt -for taste
Mustard seeds - 1tsp
Groundnut - roasted
Bengal gram - 2tsp
Urad dal - 1tsp
Red chilli - 2
Asafoetida
Butter - 2 tsp
Method
Take a thick bottomed pan. Add oil, then add mustard seeds. Whem they splutter add Bengal gram,cut red chilli and urad dal. Add a pinch of asofoetida.Fry them till golden brown. Add chopped green chilli and grated ginger. Add the roasted groundnut. Remove it from heat and add the rice. Add salt. Add the butter and mix well. Now add curds. Add the pomegranate seeds. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
1. You can add chopped cucumber also cut grapes.
2. Adding butter makes it soft,also the curd rice doesn't become dry.
