Saute seed saaru (tambli)

Saute or Mangalore cucumber is a vegetable used to make sambar or pallya. It is called as bannada sautekai in kannada, vellrikai in Tamil and vellarika in Malayalam. In udupi and south south  region we use the pulp and seeds of this vegetable to make a saaru/tambli. It can be drank like a soup also. Supposed to be a coolant to body.
Ingredients
Pulp and seeds of saute - 1/2 cup
Curds -1/4 cup
Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
Green chilli - 1 or 2
Salt for taste
For seasoning
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli - 1
Asofoetida - a pinch
Curry leaves - 1 tsp (optional)
Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
Method
First grind the pulp and seeds of saute using a blender. No need of adding water. Strain it using a strainer. Now grind the coconut and green chilli. Mix both and add curds. Add salt for taste and water to make it a little watery.
Take a seasoning kadai with coconut oil. Add mustard seeds and red chilli. Allow mustard seeds to splutter. Add asofoetida and remove it from heat. Add this to the saaru.
You can eat it with rice or you can chill it and drink.
