Aloo matar dry

Aloo matar dry - The combination of potato and peas is always awesome, be it dry or gravy. I have made both versions and it is loved by all. It is better to use fresh peas for this, but you can use soaked dry peas as well.
Ingredients
Potato - 2 to 3 medium sized
Peas - 1 cup
Onion - 1 medium chopped
Tomato - 2 chopped
Ginger - 1 inch chopped
Green chilli - 1 chopped finely
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Jeera powder - 1 tsp
Kasturi methi - 1 tsp
Rock salt - a pinch
Salt - for taste
Method
Cut the potatoes into half and pressure cook them. Once it is done, allow it to cool and cut it into cubes.
In a kadai, take 2 tsp of oil. Add a tsp of cumin first. Add the chopped onions. Saute it till translucent. Add the chopped ginger, tomato and green chilli. Let it cook for a while. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt. Cook it till the tomato leaves oil. Add the peas, and allow it to cook. Once it is cooked, add the cubed potatoes. Cover and cook it for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat. Sprinkle rock salt, chat masala (optional) and kasturi method.
Serve hot with roti or with rice and any dal/sambar.
